Immigration Biopsychosocial Evaluations

Clinical, trauma-informed biopsychosocial evaluations to support immigration proceedings.

Ramirez Counseling Services provides comprehensive forensic psychological evaluations for individuals navigating immigration cases. These evaluations document the psychological impact of trauma, hardship, persecution and family separation and may serve as supporting evidence in immigration court.

ASYLUM

Asylum evaluations document the psychological impact of persecution, violence, or trauma experienced in an individual’s home country. These assessments help illustrate how past experiences continue to affect the person’s mental health and well-being.

EXTREME HARDSHIP

Hardship evaluations assess the emotional and psychological impact that separation, relocation, or immigration barriers would have on qualifying family members. These evaluations help document the potential hardship families may face if immigration relief is not granted.

VAWA

VAWA evaluations assess the psychological effects of abuse experienced in a relationship with a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident spouse or family member. The evaluation may document trauma, emotional harm, and the impact of abuse on the individual’s mental health.

CANCELLATION OF REMOVAL

Evaluations for cancellation of removal focus on documenting the psychological and emotional impact that deportation or family separation would have on qualifying relatives, particularly U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident family members.

U-VISA/T-VISA

U-Visa and T-Visa evaluations assess the psychological impact on individuals who have experienced crime, abuse, or human trafficking. These evaluations document the emotional harm resulting from victimization and may support applications for immigration relief.

EXPERT TESTIMONY

In certain cases, attorneys may request that I provide expert testimony in immigration court to explain the clinical findings of a psychosocial evaluation and the psychological impact of trauma or hardship relevant to the case.
