Trauma-informed clinical assessments for individuals and families navigating immigration proceedings.
Ramirez Counseling Services provides comprehensive biopsychosocial evaluations examining relevant psychological symptoms, trauma history, family relationships, daily functioning, and psychosocial circumstances. Depending on the case, an evaluation may document the psychological effects of persecution, abuse, victimization, family separation, or anticipated relocation and provide supporting clinical evidence for an immigration proceeding. Evaluations are conducted via telehealth. Services are available in English and Spanish. Evaluations do not guarantee an immigration outcome, and Ramirez Counseling Services does not provide legal representation.
Immigration Evaluation Categories
ASYLUM
Clinical assessments documenting reported persecution, violence, or trauma and their effects on psychological functioning.
VAWA
Evaluations examining reported domestic abuse and its psychological impact, including emotional, psychological, physical, sexual, economic, and immigration-related abuse when applicable.
U VISA & T VISA
Assessments of the psychological effects of reported criminal victimization, trafficking, coercion, and related traumatic experiences.
I-601 / I-601A
HARDSHIP WAIVERS
Evaluations examining the psychological and psychosocial circumstances of qualifying family members, including anticipated effects of separation or relocation.
CANCELLATION OF REMOVAL
Assessments documenting clinically relevant psychological and family circumstances, including potential effects of separation on qualifying relatives.
I-751 & RELATED IMMIGRATION MATTERS
Clinical evaluations addressing reported abuse, psychological harm, and other relevant psychosocial circumstances, depending on the case.

RCS collaborates with immigration attorneys seeking comprehensive, trauma-informed biopsychosocial evaluations for their clients. Services may include clinical consultation regarding evaluation scope, communication with referring counsel, written clinical reports, and expert testimony when requested and appropriate. Clinical findings and professional opinions are based on the assessment conducted and are not predetermined by the desired legal outcome.

Omar Ramirez is a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York and New Jersey with experience providing trauma-informed clinical services and immigration-related forensic biopsychosocial evaluations. His work includes asylum, domestic violence, family hardship, and other immigration matters, with an emphasis on culturally responsive assessment and careful documentation of clinically relevant findings.
